BRIGADOON: Inspired by a trickle like cliff-hugging waterfall behind my apartment in Repulse Bay {Hong Kong} that exploded during tropical storms as if a Niagra, and a little folklore from way back, perhaps something from a late '50's Hallmark channel presentation viewed in black & white [obviously, my favorite colors - especially when divided into their component parts] when I was but young: Brigadoon, the story of a magical Scottish village that appeared for a day, every 100 years, then vanished by nightfall enthralled my young soul. On the other hand, the jungle like growth clinging to the cliffs above the bay, the froth from the falls, it all seemed a wonderous spot to spy such a vision.... albeit in this painting more castle than cottages. Still, if given the chance, would you enter that village and sweep through time, or remain in this dimension of sunrises and seasons. Indeed, what day might you choose to return every century, better still, would it matter in a town that never changes through slumber.
