Kaleidoscope Skies: This literally started as a doodle, drawing a tree and sweeping its foliage up and away into the sky, twisting and coiling across the vast expanse of the heavens. Maybe it was the vintage I was sampling, or perhaps the coils spinning, but I began to fondly recall traveling through the Loire Valley with friends, sampling the wines and storming the occasional chateau. Wonderful times, colorful times - especially the morning after waking on a soft mattress with duck-feathered pillows. I was particularly taken by the small villages, the hills, the fields, even passing through Chartres and its magnificent Cathedral, cold, quiet and awe-inspiring... walking streets twisty and turney, so Medieval, so 'dark ages' one could almost hear the rats scampering about while trying to avoid a chamber pot's splatter. For some reason that doodle came alive in more ways than I could have imagined, and for some reason I find this pleasing to my eye and mind.
