Special Island: This came to me on the wind cruising up the Alaskan coast [fabulous weather, exceptional wildlife on land & sea, and just raw wilderness] and yet thinking my island rests somewhere in southern latitudes - ideally with a drink package & packing light. Humans are a restless lot, as one man's paradise eventually leads to the boredom of familiarity. If but for a brief moment, a tropical beach against rugged cliffs of palm trees is paradise, until I can strap on skis and shush down a slope to finally rest by a crackling fire, glowing warmly, with a glass of wine and a snow bunny by my side.
